Does it also happen with the official AppImage? At the time of writing, 6.0.4 is the most recent one, although still not considered stable: https://krita.org/en/posts/2026/krita-5.3.4-released/#linux-1 And if you scroll up on that page, the stable version 5.3.4 is also available there, or just from the main download page. Also also, if possible, can you toggle native file dialogs? Settings → Configure Krita → General → Miscellaneous → Enable native file dialogs.
