            Bug ID: 526634
Summary: Issue handling files with incorrect extension
    Classification: Applications
           Product: krita
      Version First 5.3.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: Mint (Debian based)
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: File formats
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
If an image has the incorrect extension, for example a WEBP file incorrectly
named with .jpg extension, is opened, edited and saved in Krita, it is saved as
the wrong type, so still a WEBP with .jpg filename extension.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Rename a .webp file to .jpg
2. Open in Krita, and edit in some way
3. Save it ("Save" not "Save As...")

OBSERVED RESULT
The saved file is still a WEBP file with .jpg extension.

EXPECTED RESULT
A prominent warning about the issue with clear options so we can't just
continue obliviously, or some other information that highlights the issue
either when opening or saving the image.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux Mint Debian Edition, latest Flatpack version of Krita from Software
Manager.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I have only encountered this on Linux. I don't use any other operating systems
so don't know if they would handle it differently.
