Bug ID: 526720
Summary: Keyboard Layout entry in System Tray settings uses
regular icon instead of symbolic icon
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.7.4
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Keyboard Layout widget
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
The Keyboard Layout entry in System Tray Settings uses the regular
input-keyboard icon rather than input-keyboard-symbolic. With Oxygen selected,
this displays the old shaded keyboard icon among symbolic tray entries, even
though Oxygen provides input-keyboard-symbolic at 22px and 24px.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select the Oxygen icon theme with input-keyboard-symbolic available.
2. Open System Tray Settings > General.
3. Find Keyboard Layout in the Entries list.
OBSERVED RESULT
The entry uses the regular shaded keyboard icon.
EXPECTED RESULT
The System Tray settings entry should request input-keyboard-symbolic for
consistency with symbolic tray icons, retaining normal theme fallback if it is
unavailable.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Manjaro
Plasma Desktop: 6.7.4-1
Plasma Workspace: 6.7.4-3
Icon theme: Oxygen
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The installed org.kde.plasma.keyboardlayout plugin metadata declares Icon:
input-keyboard (without the -symbolic suffix). Oxygen has
input-keyboard-symbolic artwork at 22px and 24px, so this is not simply missing
symbolic artwork.
This report concerns the icon in the System Tray configuration entries list,
not the text/flag representation of the active keyboard layout. No change to
the text/flag indicator is requested.
