So after digging deeper, the problem here is not so much that ~/.config/kdeglobals doesn't get the updated value in it, but rather than Flatpak apps can't see ~/.config/kdedefaults/kdeglobals, which means they can't read the correct value of widgetStyle. …Because the true bug itself is that my Flatpak apps don't pick up changes to the widget style made via Global Theme change.
