Bug ID: 526778
Summary: Applet popups appear on the wrong screen in a
dual-monitor setup
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
Product: libplasma
Version First 6.7.5
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Keywords: multiscreen
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: libplasma

IMPORTANT: Every judgement in this issue is fully written and reviewed by a
human.
I set up two monitors. Primary one on the right.
However, activating the `Application Launcher` applet makes it appear on the
second screen.
An LLM assisted me to find this piece of code:
```
// we do not rely on item->window()->screen() because
// QWindow::screen() is always only the screen where the window gets first
created
// not actually the current window. See QWindow::screen() documentation
QRect avail = item->window()->screen()->availableGeometry();
```
*libplasma/src/plasmaquick/dialog.cpp, in PlasmaQuick::Dialog::popupPosition()*
There is indeed a problem with this code, because its implementation is the
exact opposite of what the comments say.
After editing it like this:
```
QRect avail =
d->availableScreenGeometryForPosition(parentGeometryBounds.center());
```
works fine :)
Environment:
Arch Linux with KDE Plasma 6.7.5.
Session on Wayland with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, using driver 615.71.09.
