I personally believe that this idea is highly reasonable. If implemented, it
can greatly enhance the user experience. Color schemes that make the eyes
comfortable and the mind feel more joyful are generally light white, beige, or
forest green, which are close to the color of natural paper materials, or
eye-protecting functional color schemes. In this fresh and light-colored
environment, pure black borders and shadows will stand out prominently,
creating a dissonant visual effect. This demand is very much in line with the
natural tendency of human beings to seek harmony and comfort.

I am a Chinese user who has recently come into contact with Okular. Perhaps
being half a world away and without prior communication, I have also had the
same thoughts. Like the users who previously proposed these needs, I too deeply
feel the authenticity and sincerity of this demand. This reflects on a
philosophical level, fully demonstrating the identity of thinking and
existence. It is an identity in the ontological sense: thinking and existence
are not two mutually conforming things, but two aspects of the same reality -
existence can be thought, and thinking is the self-manifestation of existence.

Next, I want to express my Gratitude. Thank you for developing such a great
document reading tool that I can use. I think it has powerful functions,
including customizable background color and customizable scroll overlay area,
and it is convenient. It can basically meet the personalized needs of different
users. I am fortunate to have access to such a good product.

If this customization feature can be developed without conflicting with the
underlying code, it will surely become the best reading software, without a
doubt.
