The KIO half of this issue is now tracked separately in bug 526997
(frameworks-kio): KIO::FilePreviewJob does not kill the standard-thumbnailer
process it started when the job is cancelled or destroyed, which is why the
ffmpegthumbnailer processes pile up and outlive Dolphin. Bug 526997 blocks this
one.

This bug remains about the Dolphin side: KFileItemModelRolesUpdater regenerates
the preview of a file that is still being written after only 100 ms of quiet
(m_recentlyChangedItemsTimer), a regression from 1000 ms introduced by commit
e6ea3ab4c41d in Dolphin 20.08. Each side reduces the damage on its own; both
fixes are needed to stop the storm.
