Elder <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #2 from Elder <[email protected]> --- Root cause analysis with a reliable reproduction is now in two bugs: - Bug 526995 (dolphin): the preview of a file that is still being written is regenerated after only 100 ms of quiet. This is a regression: the interval was 1000 ms up to Dolphin 20.04 and was reduced to 100 ms by commit e6ea3ab4c41d in Dolphin 20.08. The original fix for this symptom was bug 295031 (2012). - Bug 526997 (frameworks-kio): when a preview job is cancelled, the thumbnailer process it started (e.g. ffmpegthumbnailer) is not killed, so processes accumulate and keep running after Dolphin is closed. Why it was hard to reproduce: browsers download into *.part files, so Dolphin never sees a growing video. It needs a large video that is written under its final name for minutes, e.g. a 20-40 GB .mkv downloaded with qBittorrent (default settings, "Download in sequential order" enabled) while the folder is open in Dolphin. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
