Sachin Thomas <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #8 from Sachin Thomas <[email protected]> --- Adding another data point from an NVIDIA system running Plasma 6.8 Beta 2 (6.7.91). Unlike the original report, direct scanout works correctly for me with HDR disabled. However, enabling HDR in Plasma Display Configuration consistently prevents direct scanout in fullscreen games. Tested with Gears of War: E-Day through Steam/Proton: - **Plasma HDR off, in-game HDR off:** Direct scanout works. - **Plasma HDR on, in-game HDR off:** Composited. - **Plasma HDR on, in-game HDR on:** Composited. Verified using KWin's `showcompositing` debug effect. The issue also persists with MangoHud/MangoApp disabled. **System:** - CachyOS, Plasma Wayland 6.7.91 - NVIDIA RTX 4080 - NVIDIA proprietary driver 615.78.08 - Kernel 7.2.9-cachyos - LG 45GX950A, 5120×2160 @ 165 Hz, HDMI 2.1 Regarding the earlier discussion about DRM color pipelines: NVIDIA's driver now exposes color-pipeline support, and `/sys/module/nvidia_drm/parameters/color_pipeline` reports `Y`. Given this newer driver support, should HDR direct scanout now be possible, or are there additional limitations in KWin's HDR color-management path that prevent it? I understand this may be a separate issue from the original report, since SDR direct scanout is working on my system. I can provide `drm_info` and KWin diagnostic output if useful. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
