Zamundaaa <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|REPORTED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |UPSTREAM CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #1 from Zamundaaa <[email protected]> --- KWin can't make applications resize more efficiently. Resizing Kate (or any QtWidget apps) to very large sizes requires a lot of very large re-allocations, and then also texture uploads in KWin, which have blocking parts in OpenGL and Vulkan. There's nothing that can be done about that on our side. Linux 7.4 (or 7.3, not sure which version exactly it'll land in) will relax some unnecessary udmabuf restrictions which will at least remove the texture uploads in KWin with Qt apps, but the application-side refresh rate during resize is ultimately limited by your CPU's performance. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
