Disabling it immediately drops idle power draw from 11w to 4 watts (pre 6.8 idle draw). I also made a revised helper (with the help of Codex), to test this further. The new helper restores function without the idle draw. The new helper: - reads GT idle residency from sysfs (gtidle/idle_residency_ms), which doesn't wake the GT - reports 0% usage without opening any events if the GT was >=95% idle - otherwise opens the engine events for a 50 ms sample, then closes them (only every 5 s if the GT is 80-95% idle) - reads frequency from sysfs freq0/act_freq instead of the PMU Test patch attached. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
