            Bug ID: 527259
Summary: HDR / Plasma Issue with aggressive Colored Tint
affecting Night Light (Very warm) and only one monitor
in dual setup. Similar Issues reported.
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
      Version First 6.8.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: CachyOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: colour-management
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION:
With Plasma 6.8.0 included in CachyOS's KDE Plasma (Wayland shift) with AMD GPU
(RX 6950XT), the following problems as occurred:

1) Setting night color to very warm temperatures (1800K here) while display
configuration is set to "Prefer color accuracy" causes bright screen elements
(in my case, aggressive Inverted Cyan tint) to invert and wash the entire
monitor in it.
2) With dual monitor setup, one at 1440p and the other at 1080p, both 144 hz,
only the 1440p was affected while the 1080p monitor wasnt.
3) The night color scales up and down with the cyan tint.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1) Used display monitor and set it to "Prefer color accuracy" under Display
Configuration. It has been set to 16 bits per color mode
2) Enable Night color and drag slider down to 1800K
3) observe the display output turning cyan / inverted colors mixed into warm
amber / red. (Others have reported it being gray or white)

OBSERVED RESULT: The main monitor itself becomes color inverted. Taking a
screenshot with spectacle shows that the screen shot is unaffected by the cyan
tint. This indicates that the Kwin's pre-composition is having issues with the
color transformation. The amdgpu driver may be to blame for this

EXPECTED RESULT: The night light should be amber /.warm like campfire matching
1800K targvet,

Solution (workaround) :
1) turning off nightlight completely doesnt cause the tint to occur
2) Switch the monitor back to "prefer efficiency" corrects the issue and lets
the night light render correctly. I
