Stephen <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #5 from Stephen <[email protected]> --- I can confirm I am experiencing this exact same issue on my system. System Details: - Distro: EndeavourOS - Plasma Version: 6.8.0 - Display Manager: SDDM Troubleshooting done so far: - Changing the setting in System Settings -> Keyboard -> Virtual Keyboard -> "Show Virtual Keyboard" to Never does not stop the keyboard from appearing at the login screen. - Disabling "Touch Mode" in System Settings -> General Behavior also does not fix it. Workaround that works: This appears to be an SDDM issue, not a KDE desktop issue. The keyboard is only killed if I manually override SDDM's config. For example, creating a drop-in file at /etc/sddm.conf.d/99-no-virtual-keyboard.conf with [General] and InputMethod= (left blank) stops it. On EndeavourOS specifically, the distro's default /etc/sddm.conf.d/10-endeavouros.conf file appears to be forcing InputMethod=qtvirtualkeyboard, and commenting that line out also fixes it. This seems to be a regression in how Plasma Keyboard interacts with SDDM in 6.8. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
