**Subject: Recurring iCloud CalDAV calendars disappearing after reboot — Fedora
44 / Kontact / Akonadi**

Hello KDE PIM development team,

I'd like to report a recurring issue with Kontact and Akonadi on Fedora 44 KDE
Plasma.

I've been using Kontact to manage several email and calendar accounts,
including Apple iCloud calendars and Google services.

**The problem**

Following system restarts, particularly after Fedora kernel updates, my Apple
iCloud calendars frequently disappear from Kontact.

The Akonadi DAV Groupware resource (`akonadi_davgroupware_resource_0`) is still
running, but the calendars and their appointments are no longer displayed.

This has happened repeatedly over recent weeks and is becoming a significant
reliability issue.

**Troubleshooting undertaken**

On the most recent occurrence, after upgrading to Linux kernel
`7.2.11-200.fc44.x86_64`:

1. Restarted the DAV Groupware resource — calendars did not return.
2. Restarted Akonadi using `akonadictl restart` — calendars still missing.
3. Verified that the DAV Groupware resource process was running.
4. Ran `akonadictl fsck` — consistency check completed.
5. Ran `akonadictl vacuum` — database maintenance completed successfully.
6. Reopened Kontact — the missing iCloud calendars and appointments returned.

No account credentials or configurations were changed.

While the calendars returned after database maintenance and reopening Kontact,
I cannot establish whether `fsck`, `vacuum`, or another part of that sequence
resolved the issue.

**Expected behaviour**

Previously configured CalDAV calendars should remain available after a system
restart and automatically reconnect and synchronise with iCloud.

**Actual behaviour**

Calendars intermittently disappear despite the Akonadi resource remaining
active.

**Environment**

- Fedora Linux 44
- KDE Plasma desktop
- Kontact / KOrganizer
- Akonadi with DAV Groupware resource
- Apple iCloud CalDAV calendars
- Kernel: 7.2.11-200.fc44.x86_64

I noticed an older KDE report, Bug 341998, describing similar behaviour with
DAV calendars disappearing following a reboot.

Could you advise whether this is a known regression or whether additional
diagnostic information would help identify the underlying cause?

I would be happy to provide further information should the problem recur.

Many thanks for your continued development of KDE PIM.

Best regards,

Michael
