Bug ID: 527326
Summary: The Clipboard Popup no longer gets initial focus
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.8.0
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
When opening the clipboard popup (with Meta+V by default), the window does not
get focused.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press Meta+V to open the clipboard
OBSERVED RESULT
The clipboard opens, but it doesn't have focus. The previously active window
stays active. So, for instance, pressing "Arrow Down" to go down the clipboard
items list goes down in the "previously active" (and still active) window.
EXPECTED RESULT
The clipboard should automatically get focus upon opening, allowing to interact
with it without mouse interaction.
That was the observed behaviour before 6.8.0
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.8.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.31.0
Qt Version: 6.12.0
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- The behaviour may depend on the Window focus settings. Here are mine (from

[Windows]
AutoRaise=true
AutoRaiseInterval=450
DelayFocusInterval=200
ElectricBorderTiling=false
FocusPolicy=FocusFollowsMouse
FocusStealingPreventionLevel=2

- A work-around pending a fix is to create a new Window Rule as follows
(~/.config/kwinrulesrc)
Description=Fix Clibpoard Popup bug
Enabled=false
acceptfocus=true
acceptfocusrule=2
fsplevelrule=2
title=Clipboard Popup
titlematch=1
