[email protected] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #3 from [email protected] --- Independent confirmation on Plasma 6.8.0 (CachyOS/Arch, Wayland session), plus what looks like the second half of this bug on the persist side. REPRO 1. Window rule with position=Remember and size=Remember, matching by wmclass (tried both ExactMatch on the full class and SubstringMatch), types=Normal. Rule file excerpt: [gemini-webapp] wmclass = gemini.google.com wmclassmatch = 2 types = 1 sizerule = 4 positionrule = 4 2. Open the app, resize to a distinctive size (e.g. 1200x900 client area), close it, reopen it. OBSERVED - The window reopens at the application default size, not the remembered one. - kwinrulesrc NEVER gains size= or position= entries — verified across multiple close/reopen cycles by checksumming the file and watching mtime. The learned geometry exists nowhere on disk. ANALYSIS (against current master, src/rules.cpp) Rules::update() mutates the in-memory core Rules objects (owned by RuleBook::m_rules, created as copies via `new Rules(settings)` in RuleBookSettings::rules()). But RuleBook::save() persists m_book - the RuleSettings objects - which are never synced back from the mutated copies. So even where in-memory capture works, nothing learned can survive a KWin restart. Combined with the 0x0 clobber described above (restore side), the Remember policy on Wayland currently neither restores nor persists. VERSIONS KWin 6.8.0, KDE Plasma 6.8.0, Frameworks 6.x, Qt 6.x, Arch-based (CachyOS), Wayland, single 2560x1440 output at 150% scale. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
