[email protected] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO |--- Status|NEEDSINFO |REPORTED --- Comment #2 from [email protected] --- (In reply to cwo from comment #1) > Can you explain how this is different from "Group: By program name", "Group > only when Task Manager is full", and "Sort: Alphabetically"? "Group: By program name" on its own simply ensures that Task Manager buttons belonging to the same application remain together. With "Combine into single button" enabled, each program instead gets a single button that cycles between all of its windows. Currently, these two functions are mutually exclusive. My proposal is for a hybrid option. "Group only when Task Manager is full" means that grouping only applies if the Task Manager runs out of space for new windows. My proposal is different because grouping remains enabled regardless of whether the Task Manager is full or not, but the grouping behaviour itself changes. "Sort: Alphabetically" forces Task Manager to arrange buttons in alphabetical order. It does not apply any sort of grouping on its own, and applications can still end up jumbled together if their window titles happen to fall in between each other (e.g. "1 - Firefox", "2 - Dolphin", "3 - Firefox"). My proposal does not enforce any specific sorting for Task Manager buttons; they are grouped by application, but the configured sorting mode is still respected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
