--- Comment #4 from [email protected] ---
Same issue here on a third GPU family (Intel xe / Lunar Lake, single internal
display).

Hardware: ASUS Zenbook S 14 UX5406SA, Intel Core Ultra 7 258V (Lunar Lake),
Arc 130V/140V iGPU (8086:64a0), xe kernel driver, display version 20.
Single internal eDP OLED, 2880x1800 @ 120 Hz, 125% scale.
Distro: EndeavourOS (Arch), Wayland.

Symptom: brief whole-screen flicker (a few ms) when moving the mouse.
Happens in every application, at any brightness, on AC and on battery.

Appeared right after one upgrade that included:
  kwin / plasma-workspace 6.7.5 -> 6.8.0
  qt6-base 6.11.2 -> 6.12.0
  mesa 26.2.3 -> 26.2.5
  linux-zen 7.2.6 -> 7.2.11

Tested on 6.8.0 with no effect on the flicker:
- VRR / adaptive sync set to Never
- PSR disabled at runtime via i915_edp_psr_debug (sink reports no Panel Replay
support)
- xe.enable_fbc=0 (confirmed FBC disabled in debugfs)
- KWIN_FORCE_SW_CURSOR=1 on its own
- Downgrading the kernel back to linux-zen 7.2.6 (flicker still present)

No kernel errors logged at the time of the flicker.

Booting a pre-upgrade Btrfs snapshot (Plasma 6.7.5) removes the flicker
completely. I have since rolled back to the exact pre-upgrade state
(Plasma 6.7.5, mesa 26.2.3, linux-zen 7.2.6) and it is clean.

I could not isolate mesa 26.2.5 vs 26.2.3 under 6.8.0, but since the
kernel downgrade made no difference and the other reports here involve
different GPU vendors, KWin 6.8.0 looks like the common factor.

Happy to test patches or a 6.8.1 build.
