--- Comment #7 from goo <[email protected]> --- seems like the natural place for this is in the power management widget right under the check box for [ ] Manually block sleep and screen locking which already effectively prevents the need for entering the password and keeps the machine awake and ready to take notes, but does nothing to dim the screen. so adding another check box to also allow the screen to darken and eventually turn off to save more energy would give the full functionality desired here. [ ] Privacy darken screen when only the first box is checked you have "watch a video mode" and when only the last box is checked you have a super aggressive "screen privacy mode", but when both check boxes are enabled you effectively have a "taking notes in class or in a meeting mode". timers for "privacy darken mode" could be added to the settings page for power management under Screen Energy Savings to control how quickly it goes dark and how soon it switches off the screen when the check box is enabled. going further towards discovery, i can imagine these options also being visible in a calendar event setting so these check boxes are enabled automatically for the duration of calendar event and then returned to their prior state at the end. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
