--- Comment #5 from Adel Ailane <[email protected]> ---
Same here on Arch Linux (Plasma 6.8.0, Frameworks 6.31.0, Qt 6.12.0, Wayland,
Dell XPS 15 9510 with Goodix MOC reader, fprintd 1.94.5 / libfprint 1.94.100).
Fingerprint unlock works, but "(or scan your fingerprint on the reader)" is
never shown. With QT_LOGGING_RULES enabled, the journal shows the
kde-fingerprint worker starting and reporting "Place your right index finger on
the fingerprint reader", but "Availability changed for non-interactive
authenticator" is never logged. This matches comment 1.

There is an open MR that seems to address this:
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kscreenlocker/-/merge_requests/375
("pamauthenticators: refactor fingerprint detection").

I applied it on top of v6.8.0 (it applies cleanly) and <RESULT: e.g. "the hint
now shows up about 2 seconds after the lock screen appears, and fingerprint
unlock still works">.
