Problem :
Dolphin currently offers “Show item information on hover” (Configure Dolphin →
View → General → Miscellaneous). This gives a small tooltip-style info panel,
but there is no instant, non-modal, floating preview triggered by a keyboard
shortcut.
macOS Quick Look and GNOME Sushi both use the Space bar on a selected file to
open a fast, floating preview window without launching the full application.
Dolphin users currently lack an equivalent one-keystroke experience.

Proposed solution :
Extend the existing “Show item information on hover” section with an optional
keyboard-triggered preview:
Keep the current checkbox:
☐ Show item information on hover
Add a new option:
☐ Show item information with keyboard shortcut
– Default shortcut: Space
– Allow the user to assign any custom shortcut (or leave it unbound)

When the keyboard option is enabled and the chosen key is pressed on a selected
item, Dolphin should display a floating, non-modal preview window (similar in
spirit to Quick Look / Sushi) that can be dismissed with the same key or
Escape.

Benefits :
- Gives KDE users the same instant-preview workflow that macOS and GNOME
already provide.
- Reuses the existing information-panel infrastructure instead of requiring a
completely new feature.
- Keeps the hover behaviour optional and independent, so users who prefer
tooltips are unaffected.
- Shortcut is fully configurable, matching Dolphin’s existing keyboard-shortcut
philosophy.
