            Bug ID: 527518
           Summary: Please add output directory selection to krecorder,
                    wether through config files or through GUI
    Classification: Applications
           Product: krecorder
      Version First 25.04.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: Debian stable
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION

In the current KRecorder source, the save directory is hardcoded to
QStandardPaths::writableLocation(QStandardPaths::MusicLocation) (in
AudioRecorder::storageFolder())

Thus, the output files are always saved to the default music directory, which
is maybe too rigid for KDE Plasma environment. Also, the less lilkely use for
krecorder is to record music, so it could be useful let the user decide where
to store such files.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch krecorder
2. Record some sound
3. Click check button
4. Name the save file
5. Save the file
6. Check the saved file by its given name in default music directory
7. Check settings menu for a directory selector.
8. Check krecorder documentation for config files instructions

OBSERVED RESULT
Saved files will always be stored in default music directory.

EXPECTED RESULT
User may select the output directory, wether through GUI or through config
files.
