Wisbendji Fimerlus <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Summary|Scripting: expose a |Scripts cannot tell a |window's requested |window's committed frame |geometry, so a script can |from the geometry KWin has |tell a stale committed |requested |frame from the window's | |real geometry | --- Comment #1 from Wisbendji Fimerlus <[email protected]> --- Retitled to describe the problem instead of a solution. The proposal in the description is only one possible approach. The problem in short: while a window is still answering a resize, a script that reads frameGeometry gets the old size and cannot tell that KWin has already requested a different one. A window placement memory script can then save a tile's size as the window's normal size. Reproducibility: every time, but only with a client that acknowledges a configure and commits it later on command. We have not tried to trigger it with ordinary applications. I will turn the reproduction into a KWin integration test and link it here. Software versions (test sessions): Operating System: Fedora Linux 44 KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.5 (also 6.7.91) KDE Frameworks Version: 6.30.0 Qt Version: 6.11.2 Kernel Version: 7.2.11-200.fc44.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: KWin virtual backend (kwin_wayland --virtual) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
