--- Comment #2 from Travis Seitler <[email protected]> --- Yes, this appears to be addressed on current master. Could you confirm which macOS installer includes the fix, and whether an updated 9.1.0 package is planned? I obtained digikam from https://www.digikam.org/download/ which does not point to a release with the compatibility symlink. Further investigation found that commit fd66c1f26f29bbe5e8ce902c758fe98df09d803b adds the compatibility symlink missing from my 9.1.0 installation: https://invent.kde.org/graphics/digikam/-/commit/fd66c1f26f29bbe5e8ce902c758fe98df09d803b Recreating that link in an isolated copy of the installed MariaDB bundle allows the unmodified initializer to succeed. The bundled server also starts successfully, passes an InnoDB read/write test, and shuts down cleanly. Full digiKam GUI startup and a rebuilt installer have not been tested.
