Bug ID: 527907
Summary: Inline images do not move with the text on SD (CSI T)
or reverse index
Classification: Applications
Product: konsole
Version First 25.12.3
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: emulation
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
After `CSI n T` (SD), the text in the scroll region moves down `n` rows.
Inline images stay on their old rows, `n` rows above the text they belong to.
`CSI n S` (SU) moves both together.
Steps:
1. Save the attached `red.png` and `reproduce.sh` in one directory.
2. Run `./reproduce.sh` in Konsole and press Enter after each step.
Expected: after the last step the image is back beside the marker on row 8.
Actual: the marker is on row 8 and the image on row 5 (screenshot attached).
In `src/Screen.cpp`, `Screen::scrollUp(int from, int n)` calls
`scrollPlacements(n)` and `Screen::scrollDown(int from, int n)` does not. RI at
the top margin goes through `scrollDown` too.
Seen in 25.12.3 on X11; the code is the same on master. I found this while
writing a terminal pager that scrolls with SU and SD.
