DESCRIPTION
When attempting to make a screen recording with Spectacle (either a region or
whole screen), about a second after clicking the button to start the recording,
my monitors flicker off and turn back on again with a seemingly hung and
glitched-out version of what was on them previously (see attachment). I'm
actually not sure what is crashing or hanging here (is it Spectacle, Wayland,
some other KDE component or all of the above?) so I don't know how to provide a
backtrace for this. Please let me know if there is other useful information I
can provide.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Spectacle
2. Click on the "Recording" tab
3. Click any of the option buttons under "Make a Recording"
4. Click the button to start the recording
OBSERVED RESULT
Crashed / Hung / ??? Wayland session
EXPECTED RESULT
Screen recording proceeds as expected and saves to a video file.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I tried this with both arch's packaged Spectacle (6.8.1) and the latest HEAD
from git (6.8.80?) and both had the same outcome.
Additionally, other screen recorders (gpu-screen-recorder and OBS) function as
expected.
