Bug ID: 527921
Summary: Task Manager Sort manually: Applications do not have
the same sort order as the launchers
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.8.80
Reported In:
Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager widgets

Target Milestone: 1.0
Task Manager - Icons-and-Text-Task Manager - Sort manually
----
Bug:
Behaviour - Sort manually
The launcher of the application is sorted at the very left of all other pinned
applications inside the Task Manager. After startup the application is at the
very right.
Example:
If I sort the launchers (from left to right): dolphin, firefox, kate
When I start these launchers from RIGHT to left, then I will have: kate,
firefox, dolphin sorted applications.
The application does not know the position where the launcher was sorted and
gets opened at the very end on the right.
How it should / used to be:
The application should stay at the exact same position where the launcher was
sorted within the manually sorted Task Manager.
Example - How it should / used to be:
If I sort the launchers (from left to right): dolphin, firefox, kate
When I start these launchers in any way and in any order then I will have:
dolphin, firefox, kate sorted applications.
Opinion:
In my opinion the sort order (manually sorted) of the launchers should be the
same as the application. Launcher and application are one unity/object, so when
I set a sort order manually, both (launcher and application) should follow that
order.
