Bug ID: 527957
Summary: Implement KOrganizer's selection Google Groupware for
account setup
Classification: Applications
Product: kmail2
Version First 6.8.2
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
When setting up a work google account in Kmail, I end up using app passwords
for IMAP and SMTP because I cannot get the OAUTH flow to work.
But when I look at KOrganizer, I can click add, select Google Groupware, click
Configure and then be presented with a OAuth flow to sign in with google to use
allow permissions on my calendars.
In thunderbird and other apps, when a work domain is entered and not
recognized, I can then select from a list of what type of email client it is.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enter a work domain with google workspace
2. observe, "no configuration found from the internet for this server"
3. Forced to use manual.
4. Not obvious how to sign in with google.
OBSERVED RESULT
In Kmail if i do a normal @gmail account, then it does prompt correctly to sign
in with google.
EXPECTED RESULT
I should be able to select that my work account is a Gmail account
