Screenshot of problem scrollbar
DESCRIPTION
The thickness of the horizontal scrollbar that is used to browse "Small window
previews" is much too narrow in the Breeze theme. The main problem in my view
stems from the fact that there is several pixels worth of "empty", un-draggable
padding below the actual scrollbar and a bottom-placed panel.
Hovering over the scrollbar, it is extremely easy to hit this area between the
scrollbar and the panel, and/or slip back downwards into the panel, closing the
small window previews immediately.
There is an extant bug #416003, where it is noted that Firefox seems to have
its own issue with horizontal scrollbars
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416003#c15), but this seems to be a
Breeze theming issue, for the "Small window previews" toggle in the "Icons-Only
Task Manager Settings" > "Appearance" > "Show small window previews when
hovering over tasks" feature.
I've taken a screenshot to show the scrollbar in question.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Toggle on "Show small window previews when hovering over tasks" in
"Icons-Only Task Manager Settings" > "Appearance".
2. Open enough windows in a program like Dolphin or Firefox so that the width
of the screen is reached by the total width of the small window previews so
that the scrollbar appears.
3. Try to click and drag on the scrollbar without the previews closing.
OBSERVED RESULT
Clicking and grabbing the scrollbar is error-prone and often fails, especially
going downwards towards a bottom-placed panel, when you're working with tens of
windows. There are a few pixels worth of padding between the scrollbar and the
panel that cannot be grabbed, which probably explains some of the usability
issue.
The small window previews also close immediately, so there is no grace for
missing the scrollbar. This can be frustrating to the user, especially when
managing tens of windows. If there was a grace period, the thickness of the
scrollbar might not be such an issue.
EXPECTED RESULT
The scrollbar should be easier to click and drag, and/or there should be a
(user-configurable) grace period for the small window previews closing after
the user hovers off of the previews.
