Git commit 45e86a0b069344f8d039c4f5696100350f184294 by Christoph Wolk.

applets/Timer: use better length for compact progressbar

If you set the widget to only show a progress bar and no title/time, it
will take up the maximum width of 10 gridUnits, which is huge for a
panel widget, with no control over its size. On the other hand, if you
set a very long title and don't show it (but do show the time), the
progress bar will also be huge (which is very surprising - why should
the contents of a disabled text field in the settings affect the size
of the widget?).

We have a relatively convenient size already: the size of the text. This
is particularly good as that keeps the widget with a progress bar and no
time the same size as a widget with no progress bar but a time display
(i.e. the default). We pick the with-seconds time size here, as it's the
default, the bar without seconds is quite short, and the second setting
affecting the bar width would be unexpected. We also only consider the
title label length if the title is actually visible, to prevent the
disabled text field from affecting the size.

For horizontally-oriented desktop widgets, we still allow the progress
bar to stretch the whole space (as the user has explicitly configured it
to be this wide, and could make it narrower), and center the label as
well for a more balanced appearance (also matching 6.7 behavior).
FIXED-IN: 6.8
