Recording of the OSD when changing brightness
DESCRIPTION
If the brightness is changed with the keyboard before Plasma finishes, loading,
the OCD frame shrinks down and is too small to display its contents. I can
reliably reproduce this.
I can only reproduce when there is a single display. With multiple displays,
there is text for each display, which changes the geometry.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. When logging in (or after restarting plasmashell), wait for Plasma to start
loading
2. As soon as Plasma starts loading, and before it finishes, press the
Brightness Up or Brightness Down key
OBSERVED RESULT
The brightness is changed, but the OSD notification is a tiny square, showing
only a part of the display icon
EXPECTED RESULT
The OSD notification retains the proper size
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Solus 4.9
KDE Plasma Version: 6.8.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.32.0
Qt Version: 6.11.3
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Restarting plasmashell or rebooting returns the OCD notification to its proper
size
In the screen recording, I see a black line under the OSD notification, but I
don't see that on the actual screen. It's just a recording artifact.
There was work done recently on a similar but different bug in bug 522248
