            Bug ID: 528073
Summary: Dolphin CPU usage spikes when opening a folder
                    containing an incomplete torrent video
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
      Version First 25.12.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: Kubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: panels: folders
          Assignee: [email protected]

  Target Milestone: ---

## Description

When I open a folder containing a video file that is still being downloaded by
a torrent client, CPU usage rises to about 100% and stays high. The behavior
appears to be triggered by opening that folder. I suspect Dolphin's video
thumbnail generation or a thumbnail helper is repeatedly trying to read the
incomplete file, but I have not confirmed which process is consuming the CPU.

## Steps to reproduce

1. Start downloading a video via a torrent client and leave it incomplete.
2. Open the folder containing that partially downloaded video in Dolphin.
3. Observe CPU usage while the folder remains open.

## Expected behavior

Dolphin should show the folder contents and either generate a thumbnail
successfully or give up on the incomplete video after a reasonable attempt.
Thumbnail generation should not keep a CPU core busy indefinitely.

## Actual behavior

CPU usage rises to approximately 100% and remains high after opening the
folder. The issue is currently occurring on my system. Closing the folder or
disabling thumbnails may help determine whether thumbnail generation is
involved.
