            Bug ID: 528069
Summary: Notification popups ignore "Close to widget" position
since 6.8 and appear at top-left when the
notifications widget is in the system tray of a
                    non-primary screen's panel
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasmashell
      Version First 6.8.2
       Reported In:
          Platform: CachyOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Notifications
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: 1.0

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Two monitors. HDMI-A-1 is primary (priority 1), HDMI-A-2 is secondary.
2. Put a panel at the bottom of the secondary screen (HDMI-A-2) with a
System Tray. The Notifications widget is shown in the tray.
3. System Settings > Notifications > Popup position = "Near notification
icon" (CloseToWidget, which is the default).
4. Send a notification: notify-send "Test" "Hello"

OBSERVED RESULT
The popup appears in the top-left corner of the screen.

EXPECTED RESULT
The popup appears near the notifications widget in the tray at the
bottom-right of the secondary screen, as it did before 6.8.0.

NOTES
- Fixed positions only apply to the primary screen, so choosing
"Bottom right" is not a workaround. It puts popups on the other monitor.
- plasmanotifyrc has no PopupPosition override, so the value is the
  default CloseToWidget.
- The widget is in the system tray, not a standalone panel applet.
  Containment: org.kde.plasma.systemtray, applet: org.kde.plasma.notifications.
- Worked correctly on 6.7.x with the same layout.

SOFTWARE VERSIONS
Plasma: 6.8.2
KDE Frameworks / Qt: 6.31.0/6.12.0
Session: Wayland
Distro: CachyOS (Arch), kernel 7.3.1-1-cachyos
