Gagan <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] | |m --- Comment #5 from Gagan <[email protected]> --- ### Magic Lamp minimize target depends on panel visibility when a window is first opened On Fedora 44, Plasma 6.7.5, Wayland, with Magic Lamp enabled and a bottom panel set to **Dodge Windows**, I found that the minimize-animation target does not appear to be random. It seems to depend on the panel's visibility when the application window is first opened: - If the panel is visible when an application window is opened, that window later minimizes towards its Task Manager icon. - If the panel is hidden when an application window is opened, that window later minimizes towards the current mouse-cursor position. This target appears to remain fixed for that window until it is closed and reopened, even if the panel's visibility changes afterwards. Therefore, windows opened under different panel-visibility conditions can have different Magic Lamp destinations at the same time. **Additional observation – Auto Hide:** With **Auto Hide**, newly opened windows consistently minimize towards the cursor. However, windows that previously targeted their Task Manager icons continue doing so until they are closed and reopened. Changing the panel mode does not appear to update the animation destination of already-open windows. The behaviour seems deterministic, but the deciding condition—panel visibility when the window is first opened—is not obvious. This may explain why Magic Lamp is sometimes perceived as inconsistent under Dodge Windows. **Questions:** 1. Is this intended behaviour, an implementation artifact, or a known issue? 2. Would it be possible for Magic Lamp to update its animation target when the Dodge Windows panel becomes visible? 3. Separately, would a cursor-targeted Magic Lamp option be feasible for users who prefer that animation style? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
