I'm still seeing since 6.8.1 and now with 6.8.2. I usually have icons on the
lower right and upper right on my display (3840 wide 2160 high). When I reboot,
the icon heights remain at their the same height position but their width
position was pushed in as if the display was 3200x2160 (i.e. no icons appear
between 3200 and 3840 width).

In fact it wasn't a problem for me at all in the 6.x releases until 6.8.1 on
the system below. I last encountered this back around 5.x.

OS: CachyOS x86_64
Kernel: Linux 7.3.1-1-cachyos
Display (Odyssey G7): 3840x2160 @ 1.59x in 31", 165 Hz [External, HDR]
Desktop Environment: KDE Plasma 6.8.2
Window Manager: KWin (Wayland)
WM Theme: Breeze
Theme: Breeze (Dark) [Qt], Breeze-Dark [GTK2], Breeze [GTK3]
Icons: breeze-dark [Qt], breeze-dark [GTK2/3/4]
Font: Noto Sans (10pt) [Qt], Noto Sans (10pt) [GTK2/3/4]
Cursor: breeze (36px)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (16) @ 4.20 GHz
GPU 1: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 [Discrete]
