Carlos Espinal <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #6 from Carlos Espinal <[email protected]> --- I can confirm this issue on Fedora 44 with KDE Plasma 6.8.2 (Wayland), running on a Framework laptop. Following the Plasma 6.8 upgrade, fingerprint authentication disappeared from the lock screen, despite having worked previously. The fingerprint reader itself was functioning correctly: - `fprintd-verify` successfully recognized my enrolled fingerprints. - `fprintd-pam` was installed. - Fedora's `authselect` configuration had `with-fingerprint` enabled. I was able to restore fingerprint authentication on the lock screen by running: bash kwriteconfig6 --file kscreenlockerrc --group Authenticators --key Fingerprint true After this change, the lock screen correctly displays the fingerprint authentication option, and unlocking with my fingerprint works. This suggests that the upgrade to Plasma 6.8 may leave the fingerprint authenticator disabled in the screen locker configuration, even on systems where fingerprint authentication was previously working. Ideally, the upgrade should preserve the existing fingerprint authentication behavior or automatically migrate the configuration. One additional observation: the new lock screen requires manually selecting the fingerprint icon before scanning, whereas the previous workflow allowed fingerprint authentication directly. This introduces an additional interaction, although fingerprint verification itself works correctly once selected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
