Widget Explorer always opens on the secondary monitor (HDMI-A-1) instead of the
primary (DP-1) on Wayland with two monitors. It opens on the correct screen
when the secondary monitor is disabled.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use a Wayland session with two monitors: DP-1 (primary, priority 1) and
HDMI-A-1 (secondary, priority 2).
2. Open the Widget Explorer with the pointer on the DP-1 desktop, using any of
these:
a. Right-click desktop -> Enter Edit Mode -> Add or Manage Widgets
b. qdbus6 org.kde.plasmashell /PlasmaShell
org.kde.PlasmaShell.toggleWidgetExplorer
3. Observe which screen it appears on.
OBSERVED RESULT
The Widget Explorer opens on HDMI-A-1 (the secondary monitor), both from Edit
Mode and from the D-Bus call.
EXPECTED RESULT
The Widget Explorer opens on the screen where it was invoked (DP-1).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- With HDMI-A-1 disabled (kscreen-doctor output.HDMI-A-1.disable), the Widget
Explorer opens correctly on DP-1. The problem only appears with both monitors
enabled.
- Plasma's own screen assignments look correct:
evaluateScript output: desktops 280=screen 0, 286=screen 1; panels 205=screen
0, 255=screen 0.
Both panels and the main desktop (with widgets) are on screen 0, which is
DP-1. Desktop 286 on screen 1 is on HDMI-A-1.
- Monitor layout (kscreen-doctor -o):
DP-1: priority 1, 1920x1080@240, geometry 1024,0, scale 1
HDMI-A-1: priority 2, 1024x600@60, geometry 0,480, scale 1
The secondary monitor is to the left of the primary and has a different
resolution.
- Possibly related: bug 487945 (Application Dashboard opens on the wrong
display) and bug 500904 (windows open on the wrong display on Wayland when the
pointer hasn't moved).
