Bug ID: 528319
Summary: After 6.8, native Wayland windows opened with Bottles
are listed as pertaining to Bottles instead of getting
their own icon
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.8.2
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Before Plasma 6.8, if you enabled the experimental Wayland back-end in Bottles
(and I assume Wine), you'd still get the correct icon for the app you launched
in the taskbar. Now, the app gets the Bottles icon and name.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download Bottles
2. Create a bottle with some Windows application
3. Launch the app with the default Xwayland back-end (the expected icon
appears)
4. Close the app
5. Go to the bottle settings, change the back-end to the experimental Wayland
one
6. Open the app again
OBSERVED RESULT
The app gets the Bottles icon and name instead of its own. This is a regression
compared to Plasma 6.7.
EXPECTED RESULT
The Windows application running natively on Wayland should get its own icon,
just like when it runs under Xwayland
