Why would I like to be on X11 though? It is because of an NVIDIA graphic adapter that has binary drivers only available for X11. If we take the paradigm of linux seriously, then we like older things to be available for longer than just dump it when no new (proprietary) drivers are available. You could now prove you sign that by inventing something that makes windows ok again and lets us use these old devices for another 5 years or so. To be clear: To have this error fixed I now DO have to buy another newer graphic adapter which is likely to be no NVIDIA.
