            Bug ID: 528503
Summary: A way to hide Picture in picture windows from
                    fullscreen capture
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
      Version First 6.8.2
       Reported In:
          Platform: openSUSE
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: screencasting
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
With the new PiP protocol (KWIN_WAYLAND_SUPPORT_XX_PIP_V1=1), it appears
impossible to exclude Firefox's PiP window from fullscreen capture (using
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/8442): I cannot invoke the
Alt+F3 menu on it, it is not in the task manager, and there are no distinct
properties I can match it by for a custom window rule.

My use case is having the other person in a 1:1 video call in the PiP window
while showing your screen to them.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable KWIN_WAYLAND_SUPPORT_XX_PIP_V1
2. Get Firefox to show a PiP window
3. Attempt to hide this PiP window from fullscreen capture

OBSERVED RESULT
No way, at least none I could find

EXPECTED RESULT
A window options menu with "Hide from Screencast", a property to match PiP
windows by for a custom rule, or perhaps a dedicated option somewhere like
"Hide PiP windows from screencasts".
