DESCRIPTION
There is no way (that I have found) to escape from a krdc session short of
logging in remotely and manually killing the process (or doing the same from a
second display) if the above conditions are in place.
My scenario: I have two 4K monitors on my server and want to use krdc to
connect to a krdpserver running on my laptop (running Fedora 44, with plasma
6.8). I have my laptop configured as 4K and I want to be able to view the
entire display without having local graphical elements interfere.
If I use vncviewer to view a VNC session served by w0vncserver, I can escape by
means of the F8 key, but no such escape appears possible using krdc. None of
the hotkeys work. If I uncheck Grab all keys I can, but then my usual hotkeys
(which are the same on my server and my laptop) don't get passed through. I've
tried the hotkeys for restoring the menubar, toggling fullscreen, etc; none of
these work.
Being able to use RDP in fullscreen mode is important functionality, and not
being able to escape it makes it very difficult to use. I can use VNC, but I'd
prefer to migrate from RDP, which is better supported in Plasma Wayland and
more secure.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start krdc in fullscreen mode with grab all keys in fullscreen selected
2. Connect to a remote server
3. Turn off the menubar
OBSERVED RESULT
No way to escape the RDP session
EXPECTED RESULT
Should be able to escape
