DESCRIPTION
As per summary: Fetching updates freezes in the gui interface of the program.
Instead I opened the Terminal app and used the sudo apt update command which
allowed normal progress and completed without fault.I then went ahead and
upgraded and again without fault.
The window of the 'Updates - Discover' program is still open and working so I
proceeded to hit 'refresh' while writing this report. The program appeared to
want to refresh the updates and the left menu shows Updates with a notification
dot and the number 1 circled. Clicking it says there is one update available
but nothing else happens - shouldn't it proceed to offer ti install the
available update?
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click the notification icon in the panel and Updates - Discover opens
2. Click Refresh to see if updates are available
3. Once refreshed, click Updates.
OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens even though 1 update is shown.
