            Bug ID: 377518
Summary: Plugging in USB stick in active screensaver crashes
                    plasma5
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 5.9.3
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected], [email protected]
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Plasma5 is running, many open windows.
Screensaver (screenlocker) kicks in.
Plug-in a USB stick (in my case, usb3)

Screen flickers, then the screenlocker-login screen gets black, with some white
information text written on it (mainly indicating that it crashed and that i
should open a tty2 to fix it manually)

After that, killing all user processes (killall -u user) and restarting the
displaymanager (systemctl restart lightdm.service) does not help any more.
Sure, i can log in, but there are some artifacts on the screen (e.g. a black
box in the upper left corner of the screen, where the desktop-toolbox menu
normally appears - but i switched it off anyway - so why is there a black
box??, moreover no more smooth transitions/desktop effects and so on)
The only thing that helps is a system restart.... ????

That wasn't the idea of a DE in linux, this is crappy MS-windows behaviour
:-(((
