            Bug ID: 377649
Summary: Kile has teoo many unnecessary dependencies
           Product: kile
           Version: 2.9.60
          Platform: Neon Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: michel.lud...@kdemail.net
          Reporter: nortex...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I suppose this is not an issue exclusive to Ubuntu-based distros, which is why
I'm reporting it as a bug here.

I currently have exactly the parts of a texlive distribution that I need, and
it is relatively lean. When I try to install Kile it tells me that it's going
to pull in a ridiculous amount of unnecessary dependencies, including:

While I am aware that perhaps not all the functions of Kile would be available
without pulling in these dependencies, something really needs to be done about
dependencies for those of us who just basically want the editor. Perhaps a
separate package, a "Kile Light", could be distributed?
