Okay, so plasmaVersion() looks at /usr/share/xsessions/plasma.desktop, and sure
enough:
grep Version /usr/share/xsessions/plasma5.desktop
X-KDE-PluginInfo-Version=5.9.2
So it's not KInfocenter's fault, but rather whichever package/component is
responsible for updating the plasma5.desktop file.
