I've applied the patch to my kwin ebuild (5.9.4). I've got an Nvidia 970M in my laptop with the proprietary driver 378.13 (patched for the 4.10 kernel)... Sadly suspend-to-ram stopped working when I upgraded one of laptops SSD's (tried a few different Linux distributions - they all reboot on resume)... Anyway I'll test with hibernation (suspend-to-disk) which does work and report back.
