The tasks drawer thing I haven't actually seen for updates in ages. It shows up for new installation, updates never result in tasks appearing What I observe is that I initiate the update. The entry above settings then turns to 'Installing...'. Clicking it does nothing though. When I then navigate away from the update page the entry changes to 'Installed'. Clicking it still does nothing. I can see it still download in network IO monitoring and my packagekit plasmoid also says things are happening.
