Today, you can either choose to use the same view settings (view mode, sort by
etc.) for all folders, or set settings for each folder. For the latter option,
all settings defaults no non-changeable defaults.
For example, I want every folder to be viewed as in compact mode, except for a
few which I want to view in icon mode. So I currently have two options:
- Remember properties for each folder. Now I need to set compact mode for every
single folder I visit except those few.
- Use common properties. Now I need to set icon mode each and every time I
visit those few folders, and set it back to compact mode when I leave.
