We discovered that the package in question ("kde-thumbnailer-openoffice") is
not compatible with KF5 and Plasma, which is why it doesn't work. Jackrooster
is going to contact the maintainer and request that an existing patch fixing it
be incorporated. Once it's fixed, there may be some value in shipping the
package in Neon, so people can get ODF previews without having to manually
install extra packages.
