So if I'm understanding this correctly, the issue is that instead of using the
icon in the .desktop file (which almost always looks good), KWin asks the
window itself what icon to display, and a lot of programs just have poor logic
here and return bad icons, which is particularly visible with the Large Icons
style.

This is done for cases when the window might want to provide a
context-sensitive icon that's more relevant than the generic one in the
.desktop file.

Is that right?
